Also, the duration of effect varies from patient to patient and may be less effective for those over 65 years of age.

Are there any side effects?

Botulinum toxin is used in such small quantities that are not harmful. The most common side effects are temporary and localised bruising, slight redness of the skin and occasionally, slight swelling at the injection site. Because the effects are completely reversible, any side effects are temporary, lasting only a few hours or up to one or two days.
