All of the dentists, dental nurses, dental therapists and our dental hygienist at Chris Bird Dental Care are professionals who pride themselves in providing an excellent service in a safe, sterile environment.
Chris Bird: Dentist
BDS (Liverpool 1979)
Chris qualified in 1979 at Liverpool University. He opened his own practice in Cannock in 1983. In the years to follow he has undergone further postgraduate training in many fields of dentistry including Advanced Restorative Dentistry, Implant Placement and Facial Aesthetics.
Amit Sunder: Dentist
Amit qualified at Birmingham University in 2002. He is committed to postgraduate training, having gained membership to the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners. Amit maintains a keen interest in restorative and cosmetic aspects of dentistry.
Meera Patel: Dentist
BDS (London 2003) MFGDP(UK) RCS England 2006
Meera qualified in London in 2003. She is also a member of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners. Meera enjoys all aspects of dentistry but her passion lies on putting nervous patients at ease with her gentle approach to dentistry.
Hayley Clarke: Dental Therapist
Hayley gained her dual qualification in Dental Hygiene/Therapy at The University of Sheffield in 2009, passing with a distinction.
Hayley’s role is similar to that of a Dental Hygienist but she is also qualified to place fillings and carry out other routine aspects of the dentist’s work. Hayley is a competent and confident clinician with an enthusiastic and friendly manner.
Simon Taylor: Dental Therapist
Simon gained his BSc(Hons) in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy at Teeside University in 2014.
He is a very conscientious, enthusiastic and diligent individual who works hard to provide the very best service for his patients. Simon is also qualified to carry out fillings and other routine aspects of the dentist’s work.
Felicity Price: Dental Hygienist
Diploma in Dental Hygiene (1987)
Felicity has a wealth of experience and has proved to be highly popular with patients and colleagues alike. She provides dental hygiene care which includes scaling and polishing of teeth together with advice on how to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
Sarah Ames: Practice Manager
Sarah obtained her dental nursing qualification in 1992 and achieved several distinctions in her Professional Diploma in Practice Management in 2007.
Sarah manages the daily activities of the practice and is responsible for quality control, staff training and team building. She also plays a major role in treatment co-ordination, which involves working together with the dentist to advise patients in choosing and understanding the best treatment plan for their individual needs.
